Today marked the release of “The End of All Things” by John Scalzi. This is book 6 of the “Old Man’s War” (OMW) series, which started which started in 2005. For those that don’t know, this book is a collection of 4 novellas previously published starting in June of this year, plus some additional material. As I’ve already read the novellas, I can say with certainty that this book continues Scalzi’s excellent OMW universe. It closely follows the format and story lines from book 5, The Human Division.
There isn’t much I can say without providing many spoilers, but it’s most definitely worth a read if you’re into SciFi. You’ll want to have read the rest of the OMW universe books. If you haven’t read any of them yet, then go out and buy Old Man’s War right now (it’s an entire $3 on Kindle). Soon there’s going to be an OMW-based TV series and Scalzi is locked-in for 13 more books over the next 10 years, so there’s going to be plenty more where that came from. (Editor’s note: Contractually, only one of those 13 books is to be part of the Old Man’s War universe. However, that is not to say more of them won’t.)
