Review: SNAFU Con – Year 2
September 22, 2011
Last year, I went to SNAFU Con and found it to be fun and worth the price of admission, which is why I went ahead and prepaid for this year’s con, with the assumption that the date would be the same (weekend toward the end of October). Well, the date changed and it was actually Friday September 9 — Sunday September 11, 2011 instead. This was a bit problematic as we had other events planned for the weekend, so instead of staying at the hotel for the weekend, we stayed home and visited Friday night after work, and then again on Sunday afternoon.
Review: Prophecy of the Flame by Lynn Hardy
December 1, 2010
As I mentioned previously, I picked up the first 2 books of Prophecy of the Flame by Lynn Hardy. When I was ready to read them, I decided to buy the kindle versions instead, because well, I like my kindle and prefer reading that way. Unfortunately, that meant that I missed out on the illustrations (which the author had talked up when I met her), so I eventually went back and took a look at those. There will be some mild spoilers in this review.
Review: SNAFU Con
October 27, 2010
Well, SNAFU Con has come and gone. It was nicer than what I expected, though not as good as Fanime (which isn’t surprising in the least, especially since this was their first year). I was fairly impressed with what they did with the space they had and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what they do with it next year. One of the things that they offered (which I really liked) was the option to purchase your ticket for next year for $15; they also stated that next year would be 3 days instead of 2 (to be fair it was more like 1.5).
