Please don't go to Maker Faire this weekend
May 18, 2012
If you live in the SF Bay Area, you should be aware that Maker Faire is happening in San Mateo this weekend. From Saturday morning to Sunday night, traffic in the area (92 & 101) is going to be a disaster; you’ve been warned. Sure, Maker Faire is an entire weekend of AWESOME. Where else do you get to watch Cupcake Cars run between Fire Breathing Steam Punk Dragons while Autonomous UAVs fly over head dodging bolts of lightning from Tesla Coils. I mean, that’s just gorram freaking awesome. So all I can ask is that you regular peons of the world, please don’t come to Maker Faire. The less of you that come, the less traffic there will be and the more time I can spend at exhibits.
RadioShack wants to get back to their DIY roots?
June 7, 2011
A week or so ago, RadioShack (yes, The Shack) posted a blog entry entitled “RadioShack & The DIY Community: You Talked, We’re Listening". The post is mostly a video from their brand manager which says they want to get back to their Do-It-Yourself roots. More importantly, they want their readers/customers to respond with what type of products RadioShack should be carrying to help this new DIY thing. Basically the post should been titled “We suck, please fix us”. Fortunately, Hack-A-Day rectified the situation for them with their own blog post, “Help RadioShack suck less".
