Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 8 weeks in – serious tomato action
January 22, 2018
Just two months ago we bought a Miracle-Gro AeroGarden Bounty Elite as a Black Friday deal. Previously I covered the activity in the first two weeks of growth. At the time I felt it was surprisingly fast and continue to feel that way. In just 6 weeks from planting we’d grown from pods, to sproutlings, to decent sized plants with flowers, to visible tomatoes! So now it’s just a matter of time until they mature and we’ve got tasty snacks in the middle of winter!
Miracle-Gro AeroGarden Bounty Elite: First two weeks
December 15, 2017
On Thanksgiving weekend (aka Black Friday to Cyber Monday) we were lured to open our wallet by something that my fiance and I had been looking at buying for quite some time, The Miracle-Gro’s AeroGarden. If you’ve never seen one before, they’re desktop units that can support from 3 to 9 “pods” (aka plants) and have everything you need for an indoor, desktop based, hydroponic garden. The AeroGarden is the autopilot of the gardening world. As long as you can follow a few simple directions (adding water, nutrients, etc), you’re guaranteed to have plant growth. Miracle-Gro is so confident in this that all the standard pods offer a guarantee of germination (the plant sprouts) or they’ll replace it for free. So let’s talk about what we got in the first two weeks.
Adventures in urban gardening!
February 8, 2015
A good friend of mine has been bugging me for a while to try getting some plants at home. Historically I’ve had what most people would call a “brown thumb". However, my friend convinced me to give it a shot. So today I’m starting a new series of posts chronicling my adventures in urban gardening. I’ve got a standard San Francisco apartment, however I do have a small patio so most of my plants will be able to enjoy the great outdoors (or at least I-280).
