Apple vs FBI = Ends vs Means

In the technology world, the “Apple vs FBI” situation is being hotly debated. Tim Cook put out a memo (and then an FAQ), Google’s all in on supporting Apple, as is Mark Zuckerberg, and even a touch of Microsoft. If Apple’s refusal to help the FBI is so widely supported by the tech community, why does half of America think the opposite? The answer is simple: Most people don’t care enough about technology to get that deep into the weeds. Rather than trying to educate people on a complicated subject, here’s an easier way to look at Apple v FBI: Do the ends justify the means?

It’s red and green, that’s Christmas-y Apparently the thing to do these days is rage on the internet against Starbucks. If you’re important enough, you can rage in person about boycotting Starbucks. Why all the rage? Because a cup is red instead of decorated with Christmas-y stuff. This is so ridiculously #firstworldproblems it hurts to even think about. So I have a suggestion for the seething masses… shut up and enjoy your coffee.

An iPad 3. I know, it looks just like an iPad 2… er iPad 1… er…I’m a little confused about all the current fuss over the iPad 3 (sorry… “The New iPad”) and its love of warm temperatures. An electronic device is warm — this is astonishing? Really, It’s all Consumer Reports fault for being… antiquated.
