Disaster Prep: Have you checked your supplies recently?
May 8, 2012
This post is part of a series on disaster preparedness. Each entry will cover one part of the preparations I’m making a “disaster kit”, along with why I’m including the items, how important they are, and how much they cost. See the initial posting for more details. Roughly two years ago I posted a series of entries about preparing for a disaster (natural, man-made, or otherwise). Those posts covered a number of topics and while not all inclusive, did cover a number of the major items that are important to have in case of emergency. There is one critical point in any disaster preparedness plan that I haven’t discussed previously, and that is vigilance. It’s been two years since I first put together my emergency boxes, have needs changed? Have supplies gone bad?
Welcome to Zombie Apocalypse Week
August 9, 2010
Caution! Zombies! Ahead!!! I’d like to welcome everyone stopping by to our first ever Zombie Apocalypse week. John is a huge zombie fan and been majorly sad about the last of posts in our ZA category. We talked about doing a series of posts for it, which eventually turned into a week, which eventually got done. Tada! This week we’ll be covering anything and everything Zombie related. From zombies in modern media to your contingency plans in case of a real life zombie apocalypse.
Review: Crackdown 2
July 8, 2010
Crackdown 2 came out earlier this week. I was slightly surprised when I got the shipping notification, because I thought it came out in September. When I broached this topic with Jon he informed me that I was thinking of Halo Reach. After playing the demo (back when I thought it came out in September), I considered canceling my pre-order. It wasn’t that I didn’t enjoy the demo (I certainly did), but it didn’t seem like it was worth paying the $60 Day 1 price. That was back then. This is now. I’m still not sure if it is worth $60, but it is a ton of fun. Oh and Amazon had a pre-order bonus that I had long since forgotten about until they emailed me: codes for 4 more sets of armor (“Xbox Agent” — Green, Gold, Black, and Gunmetal — which looks almost identical to the light grey suit).
