Ok, so I love Gmail who other than Google could manage to provide 1gig of space for your email and a sweet interface, for free. Regardless of all this, I actually use their service for POP/SMTP access from Thunderbird (PS. Great email client). Recently, while I’ve been getting my email via POP just fine, the SMTP connection has been acting up. I can ping their servers just fine but SMTP wont go.
Now that I sit down and think about it, it is a little odd. One day it just stopped working when I tried to send from home, the next morning it still didnt work. I went the the office and it worked fine. Now I’m visiting my mother, and it doesnt work again (common factor here is SBC Yahoo DSL — In all three cases, but the office has a “bussiness” line). I’m going to have to investigate this, because if SBC is blocking port 25 I’m gonna kill thoes $@#$#@$@#$@#.
