I have no idea how much it would cost, at least this residential fiber they are talking about. I doubt it will be too much more than DSL is now (DSL is restricted in its speed by the wires it runs on). I know that Verizon has a FTTH (Fiber-to-the-home) plan they are working on, and its something like 49.95 a month for 15mb/s download.

I have one IM service (if you can call it that), Skype. But all I use it for is calling one of my friends, the rest of the time I’m hiding.

  2. Woohoo! How much would such fibre cost? I’ll most likely get
fibre when it becomes avail for residential customers ;P

btw, are you on any instant messaging services?

Yea, Fiber is as good as it gets. OC3 lines (What ever one dreams of having at home) stands for Optical Carrier, aka Fiber.

I woulndn’t mind an OC3 line, having 155mb/s at my finger tips.

  4. Fibre for all?? Woot! When can I signup?
Seriously, that rocks! Isn’t fibre-optics is the backbone of the
internet? or is there something faster? (Keep in mind, I’m 3/4 asleep, and just recently shook up by the SHA-1 cracking…)
