Amazon (as has become usual) is currently doing Black Friday Deals Week. As has also become usual, many of the major retailers (and e-tailers) have published information on their “doorbusters” and big ticket items ahead of time.
One of the big things I have noticed this year and in past years is that amazon seems to snipe deals out from under some of the other major players. This year, for instance, I have noticed that several of Best Buy’s doorbusters have already appeared in the last few days on Amazon’s deals. Specifically: $10 for each of the first 9 Seasons of
Smallville and $10 for the Blu-Ray of Prince of Persia. So instead of getting up super early (between 3 — 4 AM, depending on the store) and trying to get in on the deals, I instead bought them from the comfort of my office during normal operating hours.
The only thing I haven’t noticed is any deals on huge LCDs (55″ or larger), which is a little bit surprising, since last weekend I saw a a $1000 55″ VIZIO LCD at Wal-Mart, followed by a $900 55″ Insignia LCD at Best Buy.
Additionally, Steam has their several days of deals again this year.
