Amazon (as has become usual) will be doing Black Friday Deals Week. As has also become usual, many of the major retailers (and e-tailers) have published information on their “doorbusters” and big ticket items ahead of time.
This past week, Amazon has been offering pre-Black Friday deals on the Black Friday Deals Week page. I haven’t gotten anything thus far, partly because some of the nicer items sell out almost instantly. Additionally, as in past years, they are providing
advanced information on the Movies that will be part of the sale. Right now they already have Monday’s prices up, along with a small handful of prices for some of the others.
I’m currently thinking I might upgrade some of my DVDs to Blu-rays, e.g. Pulp Fiction, I Am Legend, and 300.
Jon has a bigger list: Independence Day [Blu-ray], Office Space (Special Edition with Flair!) [Blu-ray], maybe all of Madmen, X-Men [Blu-ray], Fast Five (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy in Blu-ray Packaging), Hurt Locker [Blu-ray], and Quantum of Solace [Blu-ray].
Last year I noticed Amazon seems to snipe deals out from under some of the other major players. I haven’t really paid that much attention to the B&M ads, but I’m sure Amazon has already undercut a few retailers already (that’s the benefit to being an e-tailer, you don’t have to worry about printing out flyers). Also, I’m sure steam, will do another set of holiday deals, as they did last year. If/when that happens I’ll update this post.
Update [11/23/2011]: Steam has their several days of deals again this year.
