Doxie Go blinking rapidly – I broke it already?

Posted on 2012-02-07 By Jon No Comments on Doxie Go blinking rapidly – I broke it already?

I pulled my favoritest toy out of my computer bag this morning, my Doxie Go. I powered it on to scan something, except… the status light started blinking rapidly. Turned it off, turned it back on, switched to high quality scan mode, I even plugged it into the computer. No matter what I did, it kept blinking. I thought I had broken the unit and was about to be very sad.

Thankfully, before I got too far down that line, my IT diagnostics skills kicked in. Since charging wasn’t the issue (I has plugged it in), the only easy thing left was the memory card (I use a SanDisk SD card). The instant I pulled the memory card, the Doxie stopped blinking and went back to normal. Turns out, I had the write protect switch on and Doxie doesn’t like that.
